In the next incarnation of the US Constitution there should be a carve-out somewhere which lays out how a civilian court can try and hang politicians for capital offenses. Like a militia court. (All crimes committed by politicians would be capital offenses.) There should be rules which explicitly state that any civilian can arrest any politician if they are suspected of committing a crime. Would this make governing prohibitively difficult? Oh, yes. Worth it? Also yes. Oh, and next time, even attempting to curb the 2nd amendment would be a capital crime. And any police officers who protect guilty politicians would also be guilty. No incarceration. No appeal. Immediate public trial followed by immediate execution.
