That may help a bit. Personally I am of the opinion that these machine's are intentionally complex to purposefully induce fraud. Any complex system will have numerous ways to compromise it. The KISS principle is how voting should work.

Well, yes.

When you create a vote counting machine that has fractions, you are up to no good. A voting machine should have as few moving parts as necessary to sum up integers.

Anything more complex than an abacus is suspect.

Yup I think something like old school bubble test machines. Super simple and stupid machines. Thats about my maximum level of safety I would be happy with when it came to vote counting.
