This entire year has just confirmed my long standing suspicion that people just love to pat themselves on the back and claim whoa is me. I thought it was just the Irish side of my family, but it turns out it's pretty much everyone in this country and perhaps the world.

It makes me wonder about all of history since the dawn of mass media- like was the great depression a bunch of bullshit too? Probably on many levels it was.
