I have a friend who is a pilot, there is a female minority pilot in the company who has horrific flying skills and is now training others in addition to flying after a recent promotion. With all the tech these days it's not easy to crash a plane, but when you have someone who is not qualified you are playing with fire.

Err, you do. Pilots and air hostesses have to get through customs the same way everyone else does. Sure, they have a faster queue, but they still have to go through customs checks.
Not only that, but they have to man the desks until all the luggage is check in, close the desks, then go through customs. The same staff at a lot of airports do the baggage, then the gate window, then fly. This is why you have that 3 hour window from checkin to boarding.
Hope they don't screen out all of the black pilots by requiring an ID to apply.
