This is why cancel culture exists. Its too hard to prove actual legal guilt. So Democrats are replacing it with the court of public opinion where not only must you prove innocence, but formerly "lawful" behavior in this court can be "criminalized" without notice at any time by any liberal.

When you can't win with reason or policy, you have to unperson the other side.
