When are we going to start demanding that policy decisions proposed must be preceded by presenting a case that lays out the pros AND cons of such policy. I feel like every single policy decision these days is just on the whims of our elected officials because they "know" what's best. Well how about laying that shit out before the public first, having a public debate period of 30 days or whatever, and then having them vote. Nothing is that urgent that it needs some immediate vote.
What ever happened to actually putting things up for the people to vote on? Oh, that's right, the people overwhelmingly vote against losing their rights. Midnight resolutions and executive orders are much more democratic.
Our politicians all have too much power. They do not make actions based on the desire of their constituents any more. They do only what THEY want done.
