That's fine for younger kids, but do you think you'd be able to teach them calculus when they get to high school? The problem is that the average person isn't capable of teaching their kids... but neither is the average teacher. It's a bad situation all around.

Khan Academy, my dude. It helped me get through calculus for my bachelor's. There are solutions and this one happens to be free.

Sure, for people good at self-teaching, but that's actually a somewhat small percentage of people. You're actually exceptional if you can do that, and are smart enough to understand the material.

Kids like to learn when you keep it fun and interesting. That is the easiest part. Good childcare providers do it everyday.
