I read the first sentence:

Former Vice President Mike Pence will take a step back into public life and a possible 2024 run

Stopped right there. There is ZERO chance that Pence would ever be acceptable to Trump's base.

I'll take it a step further; if Trump were miraculously put into office where he belongs tomorrow, his first act had better be getting rid of Pence.
