I would argue Republicans are worse than Democrats.

You know Democrats are going to fuck you every chance they get, they brag about it when they can.

Republicans go in promising to help and instead end up fucking you anyways when they decide being popular in DC is better than giving a shit about your constituents, or they get bought off, or they fall into a blackmail trap.

If I'm going to get screwed I'd at least like to have them be honest about it.
