Actually, I’d site a different reason: Spain/Portuguese vs England/Northern Europe. South America was settled by Spain and Portugal that never had a reformation and was untouched by the Lockean revolution of thought that resulted in the US Constitution. North America was settled by Brits, Scots, Scandinavians, Germans and dominated by the founding fathers’ belief in individual liberty.

Most of the United States was settled by people wanting to independently succeed as farmers and entrepreneurs. Yes, most were Christians. But they were post-reformation Christians, not Catholic Monarchists from Spain and Portugal.

Separating them into Gold vs God is not really good history. Even if I get what you’re saying.

The Catholic religion is bastardized by the papal fallacy. It’s the Christian version of Judaism in a sense that it treats the popes as some sort of infalliable prophetic leader.

The ingredients that made America the greatest country in history lies the makeup of the founding and in the beliefs they upheld.

None of the US Constitution would’ve been possible without Locke & Martin Luther & the reformation of Christianity. Martin Luther’s reformation & Adam Smith’s economic principles of free markets/incentivizing productivity/rewarding morality aligned the best with the New Testament’s teachings.

These principles allowed the people who immigrated here to take the whole planet to the next level. None of it would’ve been possible without appealing to God, recognizing his sovereignty & our inalienable rights. This is the fundamental thing that allowed us to flourish. Today, the bolsheviks have nearly killed God. And that’s a HUGE (not the only) but a huge reason we’re going down the shitter.

Right. It’s what I implied. Reformation was essential. And Spain bypassed that.

What you're missing is that America actually vested our rights into our faith.

Our rights do not exist without god. And we decide who controls that power. It's what makes us different from everyone else. You went through Brazil's entire history and missed the simplest explanation.

God's rights are our rights, and it's in our doctrines. No other government has had the balls to do that. Or the freedom. Or the knowledge.

It's why America is blessed. I swear I'm not even religious, but talking about our constitution is inspiring, and completely original. Often imitated but never copied.
