I don't know what to believe surrounding 9/11 and I've considered much of the arguments out there. I do know that what you're saying here leaves out much. For example, the two poorly executed wars Bush dragged us into. Then the pointless wars Obama dragged us into.
There are claims that Israel lobbied and possibly subverted the US political system to destroy the militaries and cripple these civilizations. I don't see any reason why they wouldn't.
This doesn't make Israel guilty of 9/11. I think the consensus now is that it was the Saudis. It could have been some rogue nutjobs. What matters to me is not the unknowable or unprovable.
What matters to me is what happened after 9/11 and how it exactly matched the wishes of PNAC. PNAC who was in power at the time. There is no refuting this as what they declared is in writing. What the neocons did after 9/11 is not controversial.
We have been at war with Iran and Iraq since the Shah was deposed. We went hot in the 80's and are still there today. This should shape the discussion and the policy, not the act of terrorists. We should be focusing on doing the right thing for America. We focus on terrorists because we are told to.

The Hunt for KSM is a pretty good book on the build up to the attacks though. It goes all into the network he created and how he operated basically a terrorist cell group in the same way a drug dealer network would work.
