I don’t think that is how WinRed or ActBlue work. I think they make their money paying for the donation form use or just from sitting on your cash for X amount of time before paying out.
The reality is that both are made by partisan consultants, and WinRed means all Republican finance reports — basically the piece of Intel most sensitive and most important to knowing if someone can win — is in the hands of the owner before it’s public with the FEC.
So basically every campaign that uses WinRed feeds competitive Intel to one or two consultants in the business, and they get that gem of info way in advance.
It may sound stupid, but it’s invaluable information.
