I'll wager there's a much larger percentage than many would think, that are not stepping up for the shots ?
Notice how the percentages of the various age groups getting the vaccine is never mentioned. Its always absolute numbers.
If they released the percentages, people would realise just how many are standing back, and possibly smell a rat.
Then there's the controversy over the A/Z vaccine. In the space of a month in the UK, its gone from 3 people having a 'Rare' clotting episode, to 79 at the latest count, and those under age 30 being given a choice to receive one of the other brands.
Right now, there has to be a distinct possibility that the A/Z vaccine will be withdrawn, it'll only take another couple of 'Rare' side effects. And the withdrawal of one of the 6 varieties available will inevitably put the remainder in such doubt that they will become as difficult to sell as the proverbial fart in a spacesuit.
Following the logic as it was first presented regarding the vaccines, it was two shots 21 days apart to get sufficient protection to enable emergency use authorisation.
Many places turned the 21 days into 12 weeks, and started pumping the line that the initial shot would offer 'Significant' protection. That of course allowed them to play the Headline numbers numbers game for the media.
Second shots will likely rapidly fall behind schedule, there simply wont be enough vaccine doses available ?
Pedes sometimes I think we make a mistake in criticizing the vaccine so much. Let the sheep (and the teachers) get it, if it helps get our country open again.
I won't get it, because of all the emerging information about side effects and drug interactions. I think that healthy people needn't take that risk
But some people have underlying conditions that make them feel like it's worth the risk. That's ok.

'What's the nation's progress on vaccinations? At least 109,995,734 people or 33% of the population have received at least one dose.
Overall, 59,910,515 people or 18% of the population have been fully vaccinated.'
I don't know whether that is true or not.
