Is there one for prospective owners?

Join GOA but also look for more local. For example, Ohio has BuckeyeFirearms. A suburb in Ohio made insanely onerous gun laws. Even if you had a CCW if you wanted to take your firearm out of the walls of your house, even in your yard, you had to get a permit for each occurrence. You had to get the permit in person at city hall and pay for it 24 hours in advance and list a reason like taking it to a firing range. Then you had to put the gun in a lockbox in your trunk, drive out of the city and directly to the firing range to do your thing, put the gun back in the lockbox and drive directly home and store it. And this was with a CCW. Any CCW holder driving through the suburb was unknowingly breaking the law. So Buckeye had a resident walk down the street with a rifle strapped to his back and when he was detained and the gun was confiscated they sued the living shit out the suburb, got the law overturned, and after they won held an open carry picnic in the city park. F'n awsome.

What suburb was that, out of curiosity?
