China and India are directly responsible for a hundred thousands times the pollution in the world than the US or most of the Western World. At least we have regulatory bodies that set some standards - and actually will penalize firms that get caught.
in China or India you can give an inspector $100 dollars and he vanishes - and you can dump literally anything - anywhere.
Okay but designing an organic plastic has been done 100,000 times already with hemp plastic and compostable plastic, this isn't a new technology it's been around for like 50 years my dude it's called bioplastic, and making biodegradable plastic from petroleum polymers is just gonna more rapidly amp up micro plastic levels causing significantly higher amounts of hormones' damages. And none of them but maybe 1 company facility in the next 45 years will shift to this technology without basically people making nuclear weapons threats against the corporation. So this isn't an advancement, special, or new, hemp plastic was always able to do this.
I am no fan of plastics in the ocean...
i agree with your position...
