Welfare should be abolished entirely. It's not my job to pay your bills or vice-versa. If not abolished, then made temporary to a maximum of, say, three months. Enough time to find a low-grade job to make due.
We as “civilized” human beings have got it in our minds that survival of the fittest is an abstract concept. We need to let people who can’t provide for themselves or their families die. I’m sorry if that’s cruel but all of society’s problems stem from the haves having to care for the have nots.
