Until I started watching Warrior on Cinemax, I never realized that importing cheap labor had been a thing here for so long. Apparently, CA used to import Chinese for cheap labor. They used to say the same things about the Chinese that they say now about Mexicans. This caused lots of issues with the Irish, who the Chinese were replacing.
