In most states after the policy is in force 2 years and a day you can die from anything and the policy will pay. You are mistaken. And if your insurance company doesn't pay out there are hundreds of News outlets that can be sued for saying otherwise, so there's that. I mentioned that I heard this the other day and I am kicking myself for not researching it before I mentioned the possibility that it MAY be a thing.
