When I was growing up, in the middle of lilly white suburbia, I never would have questioned my certainty that if I approached a cop in an aggressive manner I would be shot. During my (very mild) delinquent days, I had a few encounters with the police. They had guns drawn and would have shot our asses if we’d even stepped towards them. Not pleasant but I never questioned the logic behind it and still don’t. Don’t try to fight cops. Just don’t do it. If you do, no complaining. Sorry.

There are some situations where fighting cops is justified, but I'd still expect them to fight back. Unconstitutional gun confiscations, for example.
