Why is it called the "4th of July?" We dont call Christmas the "25th of December."

Because as u/lemonjuice accurately pointed out, it's the standard operating procedure to destroy an enemy's culture. You do it inch by inch.

Independence Day -> "4th of July" -> some bullshit likes "Fireworks Day" -> then just "Tuesday"
