This isn't a post to start a flame war, nor arguing for or against anything. And I would hope everyone can simply state their thoughts without it getting out of hand. I'm just gauging the patriot community's thoughts. Please be respectful, none of us can possibly know the answers. I'd like your opinions.

Obviously one possible outcome is that we would have solved all of this crap and we'd be on our way back to restoring our republic as a functioning one. Another possible outcome is that it could have led to a complete destabilization, with foreign adversaries taking advantage of our in fighting. Many different scenarios are plausible. What say you?

As to why he didn't...he could have been backstabbed. He could have lacked courage to see it through. He also may have felt that even if he had support of the right forces, not enough of the public would have accepted it. Another possibility is that we invented this scenario as being possible and it was never on the agenda. Or that serving out another term with a congress this worthless would have not been worth the squeeze of pulling off a maneuver like this. As in the above, many different plausible scenarios abound.
