To be an American Christian is something only they can do. And they know how to do. And they ought to do. And isn't all that hard. They can drive on Sunday, watch football, eat anything they want. Simple and pure.

I could say nobody should waste money or sanity on TV, drugs, cigarettes, tattoos. And while gaming may be fun, I am wary of it. I loathe gambling in any form.
We do use alcohol, and have an ancient history of using it religiously so it's not just tying one on. That doesn't mean we don't have our drunks or bad guys, oh no, we do.
I am for home schooling, as may be convenient. And I don't think TV does anybody any good usually.

One, think it out at home. What are you religiously, if anything? If anything, read, pray, mull, ponder. If you come up with anything, get a Sunday Dinner pattern going at your house. Before eating with your friend, say," uh, it's Sunday." Say Grace Before Meals, and don't worry if the others don't join in. Try to get them to say Amen. Then eat. Also discuss your ideas about what it means that it's Sunday. Is it just any day? Is it special? In time, consider buying a small cross to wear around you neck. In more time, ask your friends, with whom you are praying a little on a weekly basis, if it might be nice to all go to a nearby church? I hear many churches are too leftist, but your presence, in a group, might change that, over time. Especially if you contributed some money, and offered to guard the place from time to time, or be on call, if the security cameras picked up any problems.
The internet will furnish the old texts for you to think about.
The main thing is to organize your own thoughts and faith, and then to have some other people around you who think that way as well.

Two, oh. You said resist. Well, just try to ease away from habits such as TV and all that aren't so good. Instead of going cold turkey, substitute something similar but better. Ease up and ease better. Eating steak and working with your hands are good, and also weight lifting.
