Wrong denominator. Use the entire population in that age group. That will give you your odds of dying from covid in a given year.

And if you're in great shape, use the military numbers: 1.6 million members of the US military with exactly ONE death in that cohort over the past year.

What about the millions who got Covid and were never tested because they had no symptoms? That’ll put the survivability rate much, much higher.

I wonder what the typical flu death rates are compared to those..... I'd bet it's within a couple percentage points

Flu deaths are historically at a 99.9% survivability rate for the general population. Obviously the older you get the lower those rates
