Do not talk to cops. Ever. Under any circumstances. Never invite them into your home. Say that you will make no statements, without a lawyer, then keep your mouth shut. If even they’re being friendly, even if they live n your neighborhood. Anything you say, can only be used against you; there is nothing that you can say, that will help. They are the casino; they always, always, always win, in the end.

In theory, yes. But it is better to be polite, even when demanding an attorney and refusing to talk.

And also, there are magic words to get an attorney and have them stop questioning you. You have to request an attorney, not just say you need one.
