I heard Bongino going on about this the other night and his point seemed to be that we don't let children make decisions like this because they're not mature enough.

Not one but two doctors are required to sign off before hormones are prescribed. A medical condition has to be diagnosed, then a course of treatment recommended, then doctor #2 actually prescribes and monitors the treatment.
If you want to be against it, be against it, but there's no reason to be ignorant about it and act like anyone who wants to can just say "doctor, give me hormones" and get a script then and there. That does not happen. In fact if it did happen the doctor should lose their license. Acting like that's a thing is just fear propaganda designed to generate an emotional reaction from people too stupid to stop and think. You know, like how all left wing news works on liberals.

I don't live in Arkansas and I don't have time to really study the issue, but the little I've looked at makes it seem like Asa fucked up on this one. Not my state, not my Gov, don't know everything so I'm not clutching my pearls over it but it seems like Asa just ended his political career. It's not a popular decision, but if you watch Asa on Tucker Carlson, he defends the decision that government should not be involved between doctors, parents, and kids. And he's right.
