Hitler was not elected but appointed to chancellor in 1933 by President Hindenburg. It was an effort to appease Hitler, and keep peace between the parties. Then Hitler consolidated power, and with the Nazi's in power in1934 had himself "elected" President when Hindenburg died. Then a month later abolished the Presidency, and declared himself Führer ! He stole his way into office kind of like Biden did !
