Shipping containers have become expensive because people started using them for construction, but they aren't really the best things to build a dwelling out of. A log cabin would be much nicer!
Do you want insulation utilities etc, building inside of a shipping container cost more money. It makes zero sense unless you just like the idea of having a small house with shipping container clad.
using multiple containers, removing interior walls, using closed cell spray foam... all of this easily negates the bullshit people are spewing here.
i've built houses and pole barns out of shipping containers, i'm typing this from inside a home built from 10 of them. if you think a shipping container home is limited to a single container you have zero imagination and shouldn't be commenting on home design.
I'm also fond of the idea of a small home, but most of the ones the left shows off are pretty faggy-looking imo.
