What kind of job?

1
America1stAndOnly 1 point ago +7 / -6

What's your mask policy? Because if you're going along with the scamdemic then you can straight up get fucked.

-2
Hades440 -2 points ago +4 / -6

Depending on where they live, they may not have a choice. A person requiring masks because they want to can get fucked but if it's require masks or lose your business and your entire livelihood, I can't fault someone for choosing masks.

4
America1stAndOnly 4 points ago +7 / -3

Wrong. They do have a choice and they're choosing to go along with tyrants. Compliance due to cowardice is still compliance.

0
Hades440 0 points ago +2 / -2

So they choose to not require masks, their business gets shut down, they have no money and no job and lose their house and their family starves.

If avoiding that makes someone a coward in your eyes, you're a moron. When you have a family, you don't have a choice, you do what keeps them safe and provided for. A piece of cloth on their face won't kill them.

0
America1stAndOnly 0 points ago +1 / -1

A coward can come up with a thousand excuses for why they are one. Cowards like you also love to hide behind the family excuse. You will justify any action you take by saying it's for the good of your family. It's a shame that your family won't ever be able to look up to you as a man with a backbone and convictions.

0
Hades440 0 points ago +1 / -1

Oh shut the fuck up and get off your imaginary high horse, you keyboard warrior.

Having actual convictions and actual courage instead of virtue signaling and hollow pride like you means you don't pick a stupid senseless hill to die on like letting your entire family fall into poverty because you're too much of a child to know how to pick your battles. Dear God, I pray you don't have a family that you would so flippantly sacrifice on the altar of your pride. It's a tiny piece of paper over your mouth, they aren't demanding you pledge your soul to satan. Grow up and stop painting yourself as a hero just because you're a petulant baby who wants to play like the whole world's out to get him at every turn.

-4
Master_Wyatt_Gurp -4 points ago +2 / -6

No, they don't. You are just clueless if you really think it's not compulsory.

They will get heavy fines in some locations. That is the opposite of a choice. Nobody is going to choose to wreck their business willingly unless they have a chip on their shoulder.

I know this for a fact. Just think about it for a moment.

Petition the government localities to ease off the restrictions. Then everyone will expunge the mandates cause they are dumb. We all know it's dumb.

4
America1stAndOnly 4 points ago +5 / -1

Petition the government localities to ease off the restrictions.

LMAO! We all have choices and you have chosen the path of submission to evil and cowardice.

1
EndTheFedReserve 1 point ago +2 / -1

America1st, are you incompetent? You do know there is states that rid themselves of unconstitutional mandates, right? Florida, TX, Indiana, just to name a few... You think the governors just woke up and decided to change course?, or perhaps there was quite a bit of pressure via petitions, ect. to stay within the law...

I'm a chef near Cleveland and can confirm, so many applications and noone returning calls or showing up to interviews. Its real, and it's everywhere.

7
HockeyMom4Trump 7 points ago +7 / -0

Yep, Minnesota too. I have two sons and they are taking advantage of this and hustling to get in on a solid job now. Both are still in school. There are tons of opportunities out there!

4
2pacalypse 4 points ago +4 / -0

Ah i see, the ' progressive ' infection runs deep, i wish yu luck in finding employees, especially at a time where the government practically condones destruction of small businesses and promotes everything evil under the sun

2
KAG2020WIN 2 points ago +2 / -0

I have the exact opposite problem. Putting out applications and calling employers and they never call me back or want to set up interviews...

2
Master_Wyatt_Gurp 2 points ago +2 / -0

If your field has a lot of labor pool available, I can understand this being a problem

Unless it's how your approaching it. As an employer, I've seen a lot of resumes that were just nonsense. I've had to sift through hundreds of wasted efforts, which I can only assume are people just trying to stay on unemployment so they put in zero effort just to tell their unemployment offices "I tried

1
KAG2020WIN 1 point ago +1 / -0

My problem is, employers don't believe the skills I have listed in my resume. I have been called a liar to my face and told I need to be honest on my resume... Apparently being young means I'm unskilled. Doesn't matter anymore though I found an investor who is going to patent one of my inventions and help set up manufacturing... So in the end it works out.

Edit: I don't collect unemployment, I prefer to earn my money.

29
cuhboose 29 points ago +29 / -0

This is why UBI will never work.

8
Foreign_Aid_is_Theft 8 points ago +8 / -0

Right because the decision is no longer about getting paid more, it's about being able to live comfortably while doing nothing or having to work 40 hrs a week to make more which the bar might be double or triple what UBI pays.

2
Uncle_Jose 2 points ago +2 / -0

Right because the decision is no longer about getting paid more, it's about being able to live comfortably while doing nothing or having to work 40 hrs a week to make more which the bar might be double or triple what UBI pays.

And with the way things are being set up (especially with taxes...) and UBI being just plain cash, some people are actually making more not having a job than making 'more' with a job.

4
HockeyMom4Trump 4 points ago +4 / -0

No one would want to work. How would SJW’s get their Starbucks? Starbucks would have to pay $25an hour.

5
Hades440 5 points ago +6 / -1

It would be a vicious loop. No one would work unless they offered more money, to pay more money prices would go up, higher prices means UBI would need to go up to maintain the undefined "living wage", and a higher UBI means no one would work unless they offered more money.

11
EddieBooth 11 points ago +12 / -1

It'll only cause general inflation if it goes to the people who'll actually spend it. It's probably all ended up in the pockets of the well off, who've already got everything they need, so they will just put it into assets like the stock market and housing. For some reason soaring house prices don't count as inflation ..

13
dr_drumpf 13 points ago +13 / -0

Nothing that we buy is counted as inflation. That way the Fed can dictate its monetary policy while still pretending to keep inflation in check.

5
Foreign_Aid_is_Theft 5 points ago +5 / -0

It's the "Most commonly purchased items in Urban centers".

It's like saying "there is no inflation because a Big Mac and LED TVs haven't gone up in price much" as if that is what you are spending significant amounts of your food budget on even if that is the "most commonly" consumed item.

7
MrEvangelon1 7 points ago +7 / -0

Don't want to apply to some $500/wk (300 after taxes) job for a giant corp that's part of the problem. Hoping shit improves as things open. Saved money devaluing anyway due to ALL the spending.

"YoU LaZY BasTard" "Go wash my floors" "YoU DonT waNT to WoRK" "WhY canT I hiRE Pe0Ple for $5/hr like the Obama DayS?!"

HockeyMom4Trump 7 points ago +7 / -0

I hear you. How frustrating and part of the plan...I don’t see big business losing money through the pandemic.

4
America1stAndOnly 4 points ago +4 / -0

Of course they haven't lost money. Many of them have have the largest profit margins of their entire existence and it's due to government forcibly closing down their smaller competitors. You know, actual facist policies, but the left likes to remain quiet on that and still call it capitalism. Truth is that we don't exist in a capitalist economy right now and haven't for some time. Yet I've encountered corporate bootlickers on this site who have called me a communist because I don't support Walmart. It's a sad state of affairs all around.

2
HockeyMom4Trump 2 points ago +2 / -0

It really is. This whole thing has made little sense. A small business with a few customers here and there throughout the day must close, but a big box Walmart can have tons of people all day long...no logic whatsoever!

11
Lurker404 11 points ago +11 / -0

That's how you establish permanent left-wing rule: make sure the majority of people are dependent on the government.

When productive earners become a small minority the leeching majority will always vote to increase their gibs. The productive minority has no power to keep the government from taxing them more and more to finance the ever expanding gibs.

12
BlitheringIdiot 12 points ago +12 / -0

Until, as Margaret Thatcher noted, you run out of other people's money. This system is, to use a lefty retard word, unsustainable.

8

Unfortunatly it's going to take decades to get to that point. It's a slow death.

10
MrEvangelon1 10 points ago +10 / -0

I did not take government assistance.

I looked for another job.

10
CLaRGe 10 points ago +10 / -0

This is unsustainable, and will end badly, probably.

All at once the U.S. govt will stop unemployment payouts around election time, despite the intent to cheat again. Queue the groundswell of people looking for work.

Then it's a buyers market for those businesses that survive.

5

4
HockeyMom4Trump 4 points ago +4 / -0

Clearly, you sound like a hard worker...if you received a stimulus check, you may want to cash it as you are paying for it, as are your grandkids. But in times like these, those that are willing to work are going to have the opportunity to move ahead.

2
Megladonald 2 points ago +2 / -0

6
Equinoxcat14 6 points ago +6 / -0

lol that’s an EXTRA $300 a week! That means for someone unemployed who was making $40kish per year before is now taking in about $300-350 in regular unemployment plus $300 extra stimmy per week! That’s $600-650 after tax weekly for not working a day, why the fuck would anyone get a job in those conditions making less?!

6
LilBuddyRem 6 points ago +6 / -0

I work in a warehouse that’s already struggling to hire. We have about 80 people, we need 90. After the last stimmy, 8 people quit.

ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?!?!

5
Shellingas 5 points ago +5 / -0

A pizza shop in my area was offering $22 an hour and couldn't find help. $22 an hour in my area is living higher on the hog than I do.

6
MooseOperator 6 points ago +7 / -1

$22 an hour means if you work eight hours a day five days a week you will make $45,760 a year. Where do you live where a Pizza shop is a bale to pay that much?

2
Shellingas 2 points ago +2 / -0

I live in the fastest growing county in my state. I am not sure how long a job like that would last. Maybe the owner is paying with some of his Democrat-facilitated corona money. In any case, it's true. I've seen other restaurant jobs offering $14-18 an hour which used to be unheard of. People are desperate for workers.

3
America1stAndOnly 3 points ago +3 / -0

Why would anyone be surprised? Last year I was working a job that did nothing but demand more and more while my state gave an EXTRA $600/wk. to anyone on unemployment. That's more than many of us made there working full time destroying our bodies.

3
DroolingElmo 3 points ago +3 / -0

My employees get from $458 to $758 per week, to stay home. Why work for me at $18 an hour when you get $10 to $20 an hour for nothing?

3
Hades440 3 points ago +3 / -0

I know someone who permanently lost their when the lockdown started. We were all understanding at first, no one was hiring then, what could he do. But then jobs started opening up again, and he said no, because he really wanted to stay in the industry he was in before (which involved live entertainment and was likely never coming back). Then his previous job actually contacted him asking if he would come back. Surely, we all thought, this had been what he was waiting for and he'd finally be a man and have a job. But nope, he turned them down because he was making more on unemployment.

Right after that it looked like the unemployment money was going away and he panicked and begged them to let him come back after all, which they accepted... and then the government renewed the unemployment gravy train and he said nope to the job after all. So that bridge is thoroughly burned. I guess he's just a bum for life now.

But that's the idea. See, anyone will live off free money if it's an option. But they need people so dependent on it that their very life depends on it always being there; they need people who would be unable to ever survive without it.

1
Master_Wyatt_Gurp 1 point ago +1 / -0

It is more than $300. They are getting their regular unemployment -- say $250 per week. Then they also get the $300 for a total per week of $550. They save commuting costs, child care, etc. and stay home. But my local restaurants and small businesses cannot find anyone who wants a job until the $300 per week runs out in September.

That's the weird thing about conservative pols they'll fight for your freedom to be oppressed. Like my state the governor revoked the state-wide mask mandate (that only applied to government buildings) but still allowed individual cities to require them in public. So in our capitol city where the capitol building is you don't have to wear a mask according to the governor but you do according to the mayor. Same building two rules. They are so averse to government authority that they won't use it to overrule authoritarian policies.

Lucky you. I'm in commie nyc. No such luck. I would like to tell everyone here that nyc is over!!! Dont visit or come here looking for work. This city is a shell of what it was and everyone with half a brain is out of here. Im planning my escape as well!! Unfortunately I dont agree. Trump started the 15/30 on the advice of doctor fuckhead and his lap dog brix!! He never put in the reopen order but gave a guild line for states which the blue one abused and the red ones let trump hang bc they were scared of the media!!! I love the MAN and maga but that is on him bro. Not saying its all his fault. Just pointing out that this all started under trump.

I think he means when Trump asked up all to self lockdown and quarantine for 15 days and then another 15 days after that, totaling 30. I went along with that at the time, but that was my limit to my compliance over this bullshit.
