Philip was one of the few based Royals, he was a WW2 hero too, and did not give a stuff about protocol and spoke his mind.

Thank you. It's one thing to disagree with the institution of the Monarchy, which is fair enough, but he was a wonderful servant to our country, a memorable character, a war hero who sacrificed his career to support the Queen...I for one have nothing but respect for him. RIP Prince Phillip 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

Too true.

He was actually at the surrender of Japan at the end of WW2, as well as several other notable naval battles during WW2.
