Funny, I don't remember that part. What I do remember is that they could have arrested Koresh at any point in time in town, but instead they wanted to be intimidating so the rushed the compound. The residents, understandably, fired back. This is why fighting from a fixed location like that is futile, because it will always end as pictured above.

They were so convinced they would be attacked that they drove up and sat in cattle cars without roofs.

And they used the same bullshit novelty "Take a Number" in the shape of a grenade paper weight as their justification for the Davidians having "explosives" that they used against Richard Jewel.
