What really blows my mind lately is that when I poke around and reddit, it seems to be 99.99% of the people there absolutely hate China and everything they stand for (the ccp not the people)
There are actually a few issues where the left and right feel exactly the same way, but pretend like we don't, and China is at the tippy top of that list.
I don't know a single fucking regular American that defends China in any way shape form or fashion, besides a very few morons online. it seem to be only the elite and politicians.....
This should literally be something we are wholy united on and, yet, both sides continue to let our elites and politicians pander to the Chinese communists elites..... Both sides elites know that everyone is so polarized that very few people will vote for the opposing party simply because the candidate they would "normally vote for" in their party is soft on China... They know that people care a lot about it, but so far it's not enough change the party they vote for in state, local, or federal elections.... So both sides continue to play softball with China and either take no action or very weak action because they know, at least for the foreseeable future, that its not going to make or break a voter based off that one issue
Stuff like this is exactly why both sides benefit from us hating each other, because if we ever slowed down and realized how important to us some of the things that both parties constituents actually agree on were..... They would be fucked..... They absolutely can't allow another 9/11 style "coming together" type of situation to ever occur again... Ever.
And I don't mean from an attack, I mean from absolutely anything. They know they are absolutely fucked if we ever find a single subject that we all care about enough to focus solely on that one topic, together.... So that's why they keep the internet so polarized with a million different hot topics at any given time - to keep everybody as segmented and separated as possible, even amongst their own groups. It's actually perfect for them because they can keep the internet polarized with way less resources than it would take in person like back in the old days and, yet, they know that everything they start online will spill over into real life.... Combine all of that with the fact that the media is part of their inner circle, and helps perpetuate all of this, and we have a cycle that I don't know if can ever be broken, even if we did have another 9/11 style attack on all Americans......
