I heard it was because of the Lusitana. The fact that the story is so muddles is very telling. Plus Pearl Harbor was allowed to happen after they found out about the plans and sat on it.
The NewYork Times published a warning from Germany that they were going to sink that ship because they knew it was carrying weapons in the cargo hold to supply Germany’s enemies.
The warning was publish on page 7 I think in tiny print.
