If Stalin could get spies in the White House, Mao certainly could have gotten them in their too... just look at how friendly Nixon was with Mao...
I really do blame Nixon for normalizing relations with China, he - as one of the members of the HUAC, should have known better. It was Clinton that got them into the WTO though.
