People have to understand that to be a leader you need to suck it up and deal with people you dont like sometimes.
The people in charge need things to remain in power, namely cash. So politicians have to maintain some level of fundraising to stay in power. The best way to do that is to do “favors” for their donors.
When Trump came in and stopped the gravy train it really hurt the “fundraising” ability of these politicians. Thats why they didn’t lift a finger to stop him being railroaded.
I think we just need to legalize bribery at this point, so long as its in open view of the public. I mean, politicians are already taking kickbacks to change policy or sending millions to some nonsense like “Pakistani Gender Studies” to get a measly 10k back. If we streamlined the process, it would save us trillions because they could just get their payday without having to throw all that money around.
