Regulated in the language of the day meant in good working order and ready for use. That means plenty of ammo, which isn’t readily available at the moment. The government is violating our god given rights by making ammo hard to get.
Exactly, the government failing to uphold their end of things doesn't void our rights. The Founders knew exactly what they were saying, and any government members claiming that people are "hiding behind" the 2A need to ponder what that implies.
The 2nd is about maintaining slavery only if you're willing to believe:
that the rest of the Constitution doesn't exist;
that all Americans (even Indians, Amish and frontiersmen) kept slaves and supported the system wholeheartedly;
and most irrationally, that the slaves' labor, and its product, were so unimaginably valuable and rare that it would require a perpetually militarized citizenry to compel the enslaved to keep producing to supply demand.
All these propositions are absurd on any level, and can only be accepted if:
you're ignorant of how history, society and economics works.
you're an emotional-thinking reductionist given to seeing all of human activity in terms of race and oppression.
have a politically destructive agenda in which facts are irrelevant.
Where's the fact check on these freaking Marxist loons? Oh no, MSM / Big Tech / Dems are all for pushing their lies.
The Founding Fathers wanted to ensure gun rights for what absolutely were "weapons of war" in order to protect against tyranny - and news flash to the Left, they had just finished fighting against it.
The fact that the government has largely abdicated its responsibility to manage militias and instead keeps a huge standing army doesn't reduce our rights, it means the giant military-industrial-tyranny that the Founders feared is currently the status quo.
So sure, let's get back to regulating some militias and dismantle some of the influence of the war industry, but stop pretending that the text doesn't end with "..., the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed". They didn't stutter.
Yeah, maybe if you vote to remove your own rights then you forfeit them, and those who don't agree keep them. That would be a very entertaining solution.

A well regulated militia does not impact gun owners. You can own a gun and not be part of a militia.
The only regulating we need is to bam democrats from guns. That'll end 99% of all US murders.

At the rate things are going that's where we're headed.
Gun owners begging for gun laws is so mind boggling.
I shouldn't be allowed to own this gun!
Please, scan my phone and online data, I have nothing to hide!
My speech is too free, don't allow me to say what I think because someone else might not like it!
Any citizen asking to have their rights taken away disgusts me.
It disgusts me too but I just don't understand it no matter how hard I try.
