Yes every kid should respect their parents, but a lot of parents think respect only comes in the form of discipline. If you want to raise your kids without things like friendliness, compassion, mercy, humility, kindness, gentleness, etc., then all you're doing is creating an atmosphere where your kids slowly over time come to resent you.

Quit being an absolute dickwad. Claiming authority over your kids doesn't have to be unfriendly. There's a difference between getting them to fear your discipline and getting them to fear you. Your kids can respect you AND be your friend.

You couldn't be more incorrect. You could try, but you would fail.

The inconvenient part about life is that you can speak wisdom to somebody, and it will come off as ignorant to ignorant people, because they don't have any wisdom to comprehend the wisdom you speak.

What's worse, is that the reason they lack wisdom is oftentimes because they're mentally lazy and devoid of a good character. So their mess is what causes smart people like me to come off the wrong way.

I used to be upset over this inconvenience, but now I just offer pity.

I'm sure that's it. You're just way to smart for the rest of us to understand. Thank you for putting me in my place.

P.S- Please don't ever have children.
