This might be an unpopular opinion, but I don't think "hate crimes" are really anything more than the victim and perpetrator being of different races, religions, etc. and should not be elevated as more serious than the same crime. A premeditated murder based on racial hatred is still a premeditated murder. Defacing someone's property with a swastika is just as bad as drawing a poop emoji. It's wrong, but the "hate" part is only a term used to sway public opinion.

I'm sick of the race/religion/gender peddling crap.
