Star Trek was one of the worst psyops played on people in the 20th century. Made all its smooth brain fans dream of a communist utopia in the future as they sat and watched enemy nation-states threaten war, demonic possession by unknown space entities, haywire technology, internal betrayal and secrecy and foreign meddling each and every week on every episode. It has led generations down a path to dystopia dressed up as utopia.
I always preferred the alternate timeline with the Terran empire. They were pragmatists who didn’t rely on deus ex machina to get their overly noble asses out of stupid situations they should have known better than to create.
