I think Trump said the elderly should take it because they are at risk. Young healthy adults and children don't need it. Like the others have said here, he was also leading the country and wanted us to get out of lockdowns. If the top medical advisors all say to take the vaccine, then he would be negligent to not suggest this course of action, even if he felt otherwise.
I'm not taking this vaccine due to the fact that its the first MRNA vaccine openly pushed. Older vaccines for other viruses are not for low risk viruses that have less than 1% kill rate. If covid had a 10% kill rate then I would take the risk in a second. But look at the news about covid variants and see that there will be a new covid every year. You are going to go through this every year and be forced to wear mask for the rest of your life over a virus with a current death rate of a fraction of a percent.
