No. The force multiplier of technology and the necessity to stretch out a land war would make it impossible at this point. Only China would be close to a threat. The army is good for holding land - if you want to hold that land - but they don't need to invade anymore.

The corporations and the stateless elite just buy the political classes in the states they want to control and convert the people to slaves without a shot being fired.
