They wouldn't make it past the research and planning phase because they'd all get perpetually caught up talking about how landing on Mars would make them FEEL.

AnointedVisions 10 points ago +12 / -2

Extremely accurate. It's not even a joke, that's how it would happen especially these days. Women can't be involved with engineering and manufacturing projects. Trying to involve my wife in simple home improvement projects turns into an endless series of hang-ups where we have to stop and talk about how it made her feel when I gave her a task to do or how I touched up a spot of wood stain without involving her in that decision-making process.... Ugh.

TomWolfsTinyDick 1 point ago +3 / -2

Trade her in on a newer model.

2
MakeFloridaRed 2 points ago +2 / -0

When they hit 40 you can swap them for two 20 year olds. Go for it!

2
Throwaway_Test 2 points ago +2 / -0

Where are these 20 year olds??????????????????????????

1
MakeFloridaRed 1 point ago +1 / -0

At the local shooting range or at work as they aren’t part of the FSA.

1
AnointedVisions 1 point ago +3 / -2

Lol well she is my wife, she's the most important person in my life.

2
chez_blunts 2 points ago +2 / -0

The most important person in your life should be you.

1
AnointedVisions 1 point ago +2 / -1

Truthful statement but you know what I mean.

The thing most important to me is seeing her experience joy

JudicialDredd 7 points ago +7 / -0

Houston, I..I like, can't even right now.

2
Throwaway_Test 2 points ago +2 / -0

nice :-)

Thewickersnipper 15 points ago +15 / -0

Not so fast, what color woman? Nothing is more important than someone’s genitalia and skin color when space travel is concerned. 🤡

5
Skogin 5 points ago +5 / -0

Melanin will help survive the radiation belt.

2
WhitePowerRanger 2 points ago +2 / -0

And act as a natural space camouflage against racist aliens

2
Wrexxis780 2 points ago +2 / -0

It’s probably going to be a transgender woman.

13
DebbieinDallas 13 points ago +13 / -0

Lets see. Sending a woman out to an unknown destination to see if its safe yet for the men? Sounds pretty smart of men TBH.

12
TexasPiper 12 points ago +12 / -0

I’m an older pede, I’ve worked with a lot of engineers over the years. A good amount were female. I’d say about 75% of them were not good engineers.

An all female team MIGHT be successful in this endeavor because the technology already exists (thanks to men).

If this was the moon landing in 60’s it would fail and fail spectacularly.

6
BasedNtruth 6 points ago +6 / -0

As someone who works with some female engineers (mech/civil) now I can confirm this is accurate.

Projects with male engineers vs female are night and day in my shop

KuzoKevin 11 points ago +12 / -1

If the rockets works? I think they'd have a better chance than most men.

Mars is a 175 million mile long trip, and most women aren't averse to an occasional stop to ask for directions. That could be a huge factor.

As long as they've got some Alanis Morissete music and can stream every episode of Sex in the City, I think they've got a damn good shot at it.

1
DaveMastor 1 point ago +1 / -0

Sadly, no more steely eyed missile men. That's why it's taken us so long to get up out there again.

1
WhitePowerRanger 1 point ago +1 / -0

Quick! Send all the women to Mars!

7
Taqiyya_Mockingbird 7 points ago +7 / -0

Rocket she gets there on will still be shaped like a penis. Thanks, Physics.

2
remindmelater 2 points ago +2 / -0

hilarious

5
usdodsgssog 5 points ago +5 / -0

When that day comes, the woman will actually be a man that took the place of a real woman because muh "identify as". 🤡🌌

5
South_Florida_Guy 5 points ago +5 / -0

It's MA'AMartian!!

1
Dereliction 1 point ago +1 / -0

That's a winner right there.

5
remindmelater 5 points ago +5 / -0

I can think of a few women I'd like to send to another planet as long as they don't come back.....

2
Throwaway_Test 2 points ago +2 / -0

All my former girlfriends :-((((((((

Go for a drive, look around, everything you see and touch was made by men.

The bank you drove up to, the road your drove on, the home you left, the car you drove up in and even the lawn at that bank mowed by a man.

Yes of course there are exceptions but if anyone on this planet had to bet their lives on if a man or woman made it, every sane person would bet on a man.

And a woman has the audacity to take that first step onto Mars. Pathetic.

We have different strengths and weaknesses, developed over millennia, the further we deviate from them the worse we do as a species.

1
XCorneliusX 1 point ago +1 / -0

The left would call that a symptom of the patriarchy.

2
Maga2020Maga2020 2 points ago +2 / -0

They are welcome to try some utopia where this is reversed.

The results would be worse than Africa.

4
WhiteTrashJesus 4 points ago +4 / -0

It's one thing to include women some of them are competent. But if you want an example of a woman only engineering project look up the bridge in Florida where they did that. Any company that designs vehicles or infrastructure or anything and uses affirmative action (cough Boeing) stay the fuck away from their products if you value your life I am not kidding

3
Sarsen1776 3 points ago +3 / -0

We'll see what women still agrees to be first... Psst, women are not born stupid.

4
King_Kek [S] 4 points ago +4 / -0

Hmmm ... that's interesting. That woman could end up taking a lot of shit. "You're a quota pioneer," etc.

2
Sarsen1776 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yep, not a good position for her...

3
healthy2legs 3 points ago +3 / -0

The soyence fiction fantasy that human life on other planets is imminent is something only an total moron could possibly believe in. NASA is just a big excuse to launder stolen tax money.

2
DaveMastor 2 points ago +2 / -0

It should be a man for no reason on than the saying "Men are from mars..."

2
Dereliction 2 points ago +2 / -0

That's such a FANTASTIC idea, why stop there? Let them all be BIPOC women! I mean, at this point why would we do it any other way?!!?

2
Anaconda 2 points ago +2 / -0

LMAO...mars? we can't even get to the moon. mind as well say that a chimpanzee will be the first to land on mars.

2
runonce 2 points ago +2 / -0

Just wait until she lands and locks the keys in the capsule. One step for...OH SHIT!
Huston? Do we have OnStar?

2
sharardoh 2 points ago +2 / -0

It's already been done. The Florida International University pedestrian bridge

1
XCorneliusX 1 point ago +1 / -0

I came to reference this. What a disaster of diversity hiring.

2
Caerulei 2 points ago +2 / -0

Like Nasa is going to get to Mars before SpaceX, China or ULA, fat chance. That said, colony missions like SpaceX are going to be close to 50/50 men/women anyway, so it's a high chance.

2
Redpill-notCommieRed 2 points ago +2 / -0

Are they still going to Mars though? Last i heard nasa houses illegal immigrants now.

2
ChrisTheSoberITGuy 2 points ago +2 / -0

Inb4 government waste and bickering means SpaceX lands a qualified astronaut on Mars before NASA can even choose a female candidate.

2
bigmikesballsack 2 points ago +2 / -0

Imagine if she starts bitching to ground control halfway through the trip.

2
Skogin 2 points ago +2 / -0

Count on it.

1
more_maga_please 1 point ago +1 / -0

Unpopular opinion inbound....

Why does it matter if it's a man or woman, provided he or she proves capable and met the same standards set for the mission?

Personally I don't care if it's a woman, but it better damn we'll be the most sciency dyke there is and not some barbie blonde retard on tiktok the whole way there.

1
MeesterNeusbaum86 1 point ago +1 / -0

It makes sense, sort of. When submarines were 1st developed, they planned on using female crews, whereas they take up a lot less space, and use a lot less oxygen, so it's easier. Guess it's was too hard to find someone to ask for directions underwater, so they nixed it

1
HumphreyBraggart 1 point ago +1 / -0

That ugly girl Grimes who Musk just had a kid with recently said she wants to die on Mars. Maybe he is planning to launch her beyond orbit to see how it works out.

1
MI-MAGAgirl 1 point ago +1 / -0

There’s a short story in the book “Forbidden Thoughts” that involves an astronaut chosen only for gender and skin color. Eerily accurate! Great book all around. https://conservativelibertarianfictionalliance.com/2017/01/04/forbidden-thoughts-star-studded-anthology-is-published/

1
Brotherhoodlum 1 point ago +1 / -0

They'll never get past the Van Allen belts alive anyway.

1
RedPillosopher1776 1 point ago +1 / -0

Rockets look too phallic, they're a monument to patriarchy, i demand all rockets to be redesigned to look like a vagina aerodynamics be damned!!! Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

1
Neonlightdistrict 1 point ago +1 / -0

Women don't deserve all this promotion.

1
raver9876 1 point ago +1 / -0

Rockets that won’t fly due to the poorer math skills of women and minorities are racist!

Someone Hass to be the sacrificial lamb

1
dagoat4l 1 point ago +1 / -0

Well I'm fine with that as long as they are physically and mentally fit. As long as its a real woman not a dude with tits im all for it.

1
Brookes 1 point ago +1 / -0

Actually I have a dear friend who is an actual rocket scientist. She’s completely one of us pedes with 3 freaking MBA’s. Smartest woman I know.

Loves Trump, guns and telemetry in that order. But I have a serious feeling she’s a unicorn if you know what I mean.

I've said for years that there is no way in hell that the first person to set foot on Mars will be a straight, white, Christian male.

1
raticy 1 point ago +1 / -0

You can forget the last two. It's the first one that's going to get the job done.

1
CoffeeIsForClosers 1 point ago +1 / -0

Give them that Christa McAuliffe treatment.

1
VonTyger 1 point ago +1 / -0

The first person they try to send to Mars is probably going to die sooooo

1
remindmelater 1 point ago +1 / -0

On the movie "planet of the apes" the man crashed the rocket like three times and the monkey proved to be a better astronaut than the man.....hilarious....of course the monkey wasn't required to figure out how to fix the spacecraft.....
