The dreaded Nazis kind of did hold every individual Jew complicit in the ways that mattered. That's how the photo from Gina Carano's tweet came to be.
They didn't. Even per the "approved" history, that photo came to be because THOSE Jews were held complicit. They were far from all of them. And if those deaths were exaggerated then that just deflates the idea even more.
As I said, some of us have multi-racial families. Some of us are multi-racial ourselves. What is your solution? Break up families? Break into ethnically distinct states, with the mutts in the interstate trade zone in the middle? Deport the Hodge twins to a country they've never known? Let them pick a race? Call one white and one black? Split them each down the middle?
Did you mean it'd feel unnatural and wrong for those "multi-racials", or for white Americans? Because for whites, worrying about others instead of themselves is Marxist brainwashing. My solution is to simply reinstate America as it was laid out by the Founders. It's not like mixed-race people were invented in the 1960's.
The more compelling argument that civic nationalism doesn't work is just genetic theory and world history in general. Homogeneity enables stability and cooperation, heterogeneity encourages chaos and conflict. When left alone, heterogeneous societies want to become homogeneous.
Our national identity was defined by ethnicity, culture, territory, etc. the same as every other. Government policies and laws can only try to influence those things, e.g. forcing assimilation, but there's no such thing as assimilation without first enshrining an identity people can be assimilated into. In other words it's mutually exclusive with civic nationalism, which is multiculturalism by default. Or, if you like, passing a mediocre citizenship test or having an American passport is the assimilation; by virtue of the civic nationalist "identity" being defined legally instead of ethnically.
This country is nobody's home as it stands now. Same as under the Roman Empire, even though they all had the same Emperor, Italia was not the Greek's home, Egypt was not the Gaul's home, Hispania was not the Briton's home, etc. etc.
but I'd much rather correct and immunize against the blatant subversions of civic nationalism than assume that its endemic challenges are insurmountable.
Why? Not only does both reason and plentiful evidence say those challenges are insurmountable, but common sense says full nationalism is more beneficial across the board anyway. Even if you managed to overcome the challenges, it still would've been better to just leave each other alone and focus on yourselves from the start.
