I've already started the petition portion for the filing and it's looking pretty easy to get the 1000+ signatures as people are hearing that I'm serious about going after this guy and have volunteered to help me get those signatures I need to file.
I have zero clue on what I am doing though. I've never ran a campaign or been a part of one in fact. All I know is Dan Newhouse is a traitor and he needs to go.
So, I'm looking for advice, guidance, and recommendations on how to begin my campaign to unseat him.
I'm just an average middle class american tired of career politicians selling out America for their own personal greed. In fact, that is one of the things I would really like to see happen is to get term limits in for Congress.
I'm an Army Veteran (honorable discharge) and I took my oath and still do to support and defend the Constitution and seeing these Democrats purposefully whittle and erode it to serve their purposes has me spitting mad.
The 2nd Amendment states "shall not be infringed" and yet the Democrats dismiss those words as if they are not even there. It's like the battle of Athens never happened. The 2nd Amendment is the only thing keeping our Government from enacting tyrannical rule over our lives.
I firmly believe in America First policies and I do not believe our country has any reason to be conducting business with countries that are in the act of committing genocide. There is other countries that build our cheap useless crap that are not communist and actually are not committing human rights violations.
I also believe that the office of the President has too much power and that Executive Orders need to be brought in check. Congress is the Legislative branch and for too long they have deferred their responsibilities to the Executive Branch because they are too cowardly to take up any action that may threaten their chances of getting another term.
I also believe that Tech censorship is a threat to American liberties and that by conducting such censorship these companies claimed to be platforms have indeed become publishers and should then be held and seen as such.
There needs to be antitrust actions brought upon Google and the company needs to be broken apart.

I am currently outgunned and outmanned. Financially, I know my opponent has resources that are absolutely enormous compared to mine. He is an entrenched elite career politician who has powerful friends in high places. I just can't bitch anymore. Complaining is useless. It takes good people to stand up and fight for what they believe in if there is to be any sort of positive change for the better. Dan Newhouse is part of the problem. A career politician who makes his money selling favors to corporate behemoths. As a soldier I was trained to adapt and overcome any problem that stood in my way and Dan Newhouse is a problem. Congratulations Jason. I am going to be blunt with you, because if you're going to play big boy games, you're going to hear big boy talk:
You're almost certainly going to lose.
Why? Because the person you're running against is tied in to the machine. He sits on several caucuses and probably has plenty of money. You're coming out swinging. That's fine and noble, but politics isn't about being noble, it's about money and power.
How many local organizations are you active in in your community? Do you know anyone in the political community? Are you in your Chamber of Commerce? Neighborhood associations? You're going to need a political bloc That is what gives you the beginnings of credibility.
Newhouse has money. He also has legislation signed by Trump. He has a record of positive action, and will tell everyone this record at every opportunity. Who are you? What have you done? What can you get done?
You are an unknown, and if you are an unknown, people are not going to take a risk on you in any real way. You will not receive the support of any organization (which comes with a voting bloc). Why? Because if the congressman catches the drift that any organization supported his primary opponent, that organization will be blackballed in the future when he ultimately defeats you. They will never receive any pork ever again. You are simply too much of a risk.
Now. What can you do about this to give yourself at least a fighting chance? You have to go directly to the people. This means basically meeting everyone in the district and talking with them face to face. This is a tremendous task, which is why politicians rely on money and mailers to "meet" everyone. You don't have money, because you won't get any money, because giving money to you, from an organization at least, is a death sentence for that organization. So you're left with going door to door, and convince people on an individual level to vote for you. One person at a time.
Sound hard? That's because it will be. 8 hours a day, knocking on doors, standing out in front of supermarkets, speaking to community groups. You also have another problem: You have no money. If people don't see you have backing from these major groups, they won't believe in you. It's just human nature. You'll seem like a guy nobody supports. You won't be able to send out flashy mailers with your smiling face on it. This gives your candidacy legitimacy. Otherwise you're just a crazy dude running for office.
By the way, never tell anyone else ever again that you're a "just a normal guy". People hate "just normal guys" in politics. They want someone better than them, someone with a track record. Someone they can trust to get things done. You better be smooth. You better have a nice suit, and never be caught out of it in public. You must take the guise of the leader, the superior. The person who looks like they should be in congress.
I'm sure they'll be a bunch of downvotes to this post from people who don't want it to be this way. IT IS THIS WAY. I have 30 years of political experience. I have held elected local office. I have managed campaigns. This is the way it is. I'm sorry if that makes you sad. Why do you think politicians and everyone around them are so cynical?
Try and get on the radio. Polish your shit up so it's flawless. This is congress. Lots of money is thrown at these people. It is a vote of federal policy. It is important. The person your running against is a player. He has influence. People have invested hundreds of thousands of dollars to ensure that he is the person in that seat, not you. They are not going to let you win. You have to play hard. This is not tennis. This is serious fucking shit. If it looks like you might win, they will go negative on you, and you will see your name dragged through the mud.
Here's a tip: If everyone is really supportive, if your opponent tries any horseshit on you like, "I encourage all Americans like Jason to run for political office because it only strengthens are Democracy.", that is, if he even mentions your name (he won't), you are not a threat. If he starts talking shit about you and spending real fucking money to make you look like Satan himself, you just might have a fucking chance.
Imagine yourself as already there. Decorum. Nobility. Leadership. You start ranting like pissed off citizen, and that's all you will be.
Hope you have a thick skin and a killer instinct. This is war. I am not shitting you. This is power and people don't just give it away.
