This is a reasonable take, however the one youre replying to is absolutely retarded. He clearly has no idea how the military works. Ppl on this website that make these claims are so cringe.

It's always the non-military people who shit all over the military.

I get it. They military didn't do shit on Jan 6th. But you know what? They were the NATIONAL GUARD, not active duty. Active duty were most likely told to stay away or risk getting in trouble. Since the UCMJ specifically states you're allowed to protest, but not in uniform, a bunch of active duty people probably went to March with their president only to be punished by Biden later down the road.

Now I'm not shitting on the National Guard because most were probably prior active duty, but they are your weekend warriors. They only show up for work 1 or 2 weekends a month. And a bunch of them are lefty cunts. I know because I've worked with them when they showed up for training.

Now why didn't the active duty do anything about Biden illegally taking the presidency? Because A LOT of generals and higher ups were Obama hold overs and are basically commie fucks. There are a few commanders out there who would be willing to do what's right, but would be shut down quick.

The military mindset, especially for an enlisted person, is do what your told and shut up. At least it was that way when I was it. Sure we can complain via the chain of command, but that would only get you so far before some officer somewhere stops it. Not to mention you could be accused of literally anything and be punished with no proof or evidence because in the military, you're guilty until proven innocent. The laws are different there than the civilian world. This is why you arent seeing active duty military storming the streets, same with national guard. They just want to do their job and go home.

Again, I get why people are mad at the military. But what can they do? Almost all of their leadership is swamp. Literally anything you try is met with force and will be stopped.

Don't think for a second that our guys and gals in the military would rather fight for Biden if a civil war kicked off. You would be dead wrong on that. If there was a glimmer of hope of changing the system from within, they would jump to our side faster than you could say wtf. Problem is, you guys better win, because if you don't, there is going to be a lot of people who's lives will be destroyed.

Thank you for the insight. I think a lot of us are quite disenfranchised with our military because they didn’t do anything, which, like you pointed out, was an unjustified assumption, especially for the soldiers.

Can I ask if you are a veteran or work with the military personally? I’d love to hear more about it. I’ve always been very supportive and had a lot of respect for our military, but a lot of things have changed since January.

Both.

Served 7 years and got a medical retirement for an injury I sustained while deployed.

Now I work as an IT contractor for the DoD healthcare system.
