They are holding on to a daydream that this is all just some wave that will pass over and that in 5 or 10 years we'll be back to "good ole America".
They haven't connected the dots, and likely never will, between Antifa/BLM riots, police being told to stand down, the "defund the police" movement, and increased numbers of police officers quitting or retiring.

I see it as a fascist takeover, and its not the beginnings, it actually happened. Presently this is the 4th Reich.
