Suddenly coming into money doesn’t make you smarter, or a hard worker, or more honest. Whatever type of person you were before being given the money is the same type of person you will be after getting the money. This is why so many lottery winners wind up bankrupt a few years after winning. Most lottery winners made bad financial decisions before winning the lottery. After winning, they just have more money to make even poorer decisions with.

Same thing will happen with reparations. The overwhelming majority of recipients will ultimately be the same as they are today or even worse off 5 years after getting the money.
