That little bugger is about the size of the ones that killed my stove by eating at the wire harness. Those things where a solid foot long front tip to tip when I was dealing with them.
Bro, I'm in Florida and have citrus trees in my back yard. I'm basically rat Mao at this point. Nothing better than killing one of these fuckers that has caused some chaos in your life.
I don't like to have to do it, but man are they destructive little rat bastids. This one was building a nest on top of the engine. I keep the hood open cause they like dark, confined spaces. I've tried all of the "repellents," peppermint essential oil, sonic emitters and so forth. Nothing worked.
There is no better mousetrap than a Victor Rat Trap.
dear pede: march yourself down to your local shelter and adopt a pair of cats; ask for a bonded pair. not kittens. cats. this will resolve your rat issue. also, a good dead for the cats...everyone wants a kitten, not an adult and they get passed over. also, bonded pairs are difficult to adopt out. shelter fees generally cover spay/neuter and vaxxing. just consider it the real organic solution to your problem.
They wouldn't last long between the eagles, hawks, coyotes and assorted big cats. Someone once told me I should build a barn box and try to attract an owl.
It is tough at first, for me the beautiful fruit I work so hard and bleed from thorns to cultivate dropping early and getting eaten by not my family was the end for me. You're 100% right, the victor trap is the way to go.
FYI if you don't get to the trap in time and you have a colony anywhere near they will cannibalize the dead one on the trap. It's nasty.
During my days on Facebook, I had someone genuinely try to make me feel bad for killing mice. It was so fucking retarded I can't even make a joke out of it.

This one is close to 14 inches tip to tip. The trap is 7" X 3 1/2".
That is a big one, but you have avenged the spark plugs for it was duty.
Did you notice the white feet? I named it, "Mittens." PostHUMORously, of course.
I just noticed, and you got a good chuckle out of me.
Glad to hear it. Gotta have a sense of humor in these times.

well, no...not if they're just going to become fodder for the local predators. bummer. an owl would be A Good Thing, tho'.
Oddly enough there are a fair number of videos of alternative trap designs on YouTube. I'd bet Victor's is the most cost effective.
Yeah...less than 2 bucks.
Cost effective and more humane. They don't even know they're dead. They still have the "free peanut butter fuck yeah" look on their dead face.

Didn't know that. Thanks. I put it belly up on a boulder a good distance away so the raptors would have no problem spotting it.
I heard that the coverings they are using now on wires are soy based
I've heard the same thing. So...pack rats are just more destructive soy boys...
Why the dime?
It's a quarter for size reference. I wanted my sisters to see how big this one was.
