Imagine this. Here in Houston, in the Trump voting counties, there is no vaccine. However in the Biden voting counties, there's so much they have extra.

I was talking to some co-workers who have had the vaccine at Toyota Center. There was so much supply, the people at TC told people there for vaccine to call family and friends to come for some vaccine/

My mom, 78, received email from Kelsey telling her there's no vaccine supply and they don't expect to have any within the next 4-6 months - this is in the North Houston suburbs - Trump voter territory.

That's OK because she wasn't planning to get it.

My co-workers were aghast that I haven't gotten the vaccine and won't get it.

One told of how he contracted China Wuhan - he had a slight fever for 3 weeks so had to work from home. Now that he took the vaccine, he feels much safer. After the second shot, he was so sick for a week that he couldn't work even from home - but boy oh boy, he feels safer.

Another co-worker said she now feels safe. After taking the vaccine she missed work for the first time in 25 years, but man, she feels safer.

Another guy didn't want to join us at the lunch table because he doesn't want to be near people when they're all unmasked eating. I pointed out the absurdity of the set up: people wear masks to get the food where they're separated. The tables are all shoved together so people are close when masks are off to eat. He went on about knowing 3 people who died of China Wuhan - they were all over 70 and in bad health, but hey, they all died of Covid. He went on, asked me something, but I didn't answer.

Me: "Oh, I stopped paying attention to what you were saying a while ago."

These people were sicker after the vaccine than before it, even including a bout with China Wuham. But now they feel safe, and they think I'm not safe because I haven't taken the vaccine .

What’s with the safety fetish? It’s like some kind of pathology. They want safety at any cost which is not how world works. Real world is about risk management and nothing is 100% safe.

It’s the brainwashing. Fear / safety is top message.

And safety (fear) message plays well to women. And many men just go along with their wives so everyone is just fearmongered into compliance

This starts in elementary school. They are constantly telling the kids to 'be safe'. At one of the schools I work at, it's part of the school slogan 'be safe, be....., be .....'. signs everywhere. On the playground 'that's not safe'. I have recognized this for a long time. I always tell the kids to be safe but to take risks...I say ' so what if you get little cut... You climbed the monkey bars to the top!' That we wouldn't have gone to the moon, to the bottom of the oceans, wouldn't have airplanes, bikes, even skateboards if people hadn't taken risks. The worst part of that whole concept is that they use that as a tool to emasculate men. They try to strip men of their God given drive to explore, invent, conquer the unknown. I hate them for it.

Yes I have noticed this in my kids’ school. Message in most schools nowadays is “safety first” which sounds nice but is horrifying to me. It is creating a psychological self imposed prison many people in society as people are trained to always play it safe. That is not the path to greatness.
