I think we weren’t prepared for this influx of prosperity or advancements in technology. The constitution is good, the representation just needs to enter the 21st century.
We should be able to vote and verify our votes online, but it is required to provide certain critical information of every candidate when voting. Also every vote must be tied to a real United States citizen documented at birth or by immigration. It should be easy to find out if your vote was stolen.
Voting also needs to happen more often, the world is changing quickly, information flows quickly and what you understand 4 years from now will change dramatically. Have a limit of 8 years to keep any federal representative, have a live tally of approval, when approval reaches 33% a new election is held the following year. 17% and automatically begin impeachment proceedings.
Basically with modern technology you can replicate data across the country very easily, fairly cheaply, pretty quickly. The government ought to hire and vet (no contractors) the technical staff to do all of their own hosting. Private cloud mixed with government is a fucking joke.
