Pool water uses chlorine or other disinfectant chemicals to keep the water clean enough to swim in. If you had COVID, just being in the water would kill the virus that you spit out because the virus would not be able to survive in the water with those chemicals.
This is beyond stupid.
It will not surprise me in the least if Schlitterbahn Tx forces their employees to wear masks this May, ESPECIALLY the life guards.
Even though they use chlorine in their water.
Because this isn't about good sense. It's about control.
There are way worse viruses/diseases that people carry into pools than COVID. That water is coming into contact with everyone’s orifices. It’s filled with the saliva, sweat, piss, snot, and fecal matter of strangers. Yet people are suddenly scared that COVID will be the virus that gets them.
